Your 2008 Chris Bell award winner is...

Stephfon Green. What's the Chris Bell award you ask, that would be the award for the most potential to be completely highly overhyped and turn into an utter disappointment come fall.

''He's lightning,'' senior linebacker Sean Lee said.
''He's just fast,'' senior safety Anthony Scirrotto said. ''It's tricky because you've got to learn the angle with that guy. He's so fast. If you take one wrong step, then he's going to run by you. That's just how he is.
''We had Rodney Kinlaw and Evan Royster, so they held him. But this year, I think he's going to do really well, have a breakout year.''

God I hope the reports are right but call me skeptical until I see a redshirt freshman whose only accomplishment was a decent stint against the 1st team defense on the practice squad. I'll wait to pass judgment when I see him live against something other than a teammate.

Might want to change the name of this award, or ppl will think you believe Steph will pull a knife on a teammate in the near future...

On the plus side, I see a defense that is learning to deal with speed.

Well, at least I got the "utter disappointment" part right when speaking of Bell.
