I never met Lt. Michael P. Murphy, but I wish I had. I suppose that is the true measure of a life’s achievement. His time at Penn State was over before mine began and yesterday he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the first such U.S. serviceman from the conflict in Afghanistan.
