Penn State Recruiting Update

As per a valued reader’s request, I’m getting into recruiting biz long enough to update the faithful reader of PSU’s current situation on the recruiting front. I’m using Scout as my source so all rankings are according to their service.

Stefen Wisniewski

Another in a long line of Penn State legacies although I doubt you will find many fans crying nepotism in Stefen’s case. As a senior, Wisniewski was selected as a U.S. Army All-American. He was named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Fabulous 22" team.
Wisniewski earned first team Class AAAA Associated Press All-State, Pittsburgh tribune-Review "Terrific 25" and All-WPIAL honors. Recorded 64 tackles, including 10 for losses and six sacks.

Colasanti earned All-Metro honors as a senior and was named to the Detroit News "Dream Team".

Andrew Dailey

Dailey helped lead his team to a state championship in 2005. Andrew is one of the Top 10 prospects in the Midwest in 2006. Played Safety as a junior and switched to Linebacker as a senior.

J.B. Walton
Pos: OG

Ranking: 4 Star

Walton ranks No. 27 nationally for offensive linemen and is one of the nation's premier pulling guards. Committed last year but had to attend Milford Academy.

Josh Marks
Pos: OT
Catawissa, PA
Ranking: 4 Star

Marks a perennial All-State selection has been the anchor of the Southern Columbia lines the past three seasons. Marks is a very strong athlete, bench pressing 400+ pounds. He delivers a quick and powerful punch and moves well for his size.

Jon Ditto
Pos: TE
Monroeville, PA
Ranking: 4 Star

As a junior earned second team Class AAAA Associated Press All-State and third team PA Football News All-State. Ditto caught 29 passes for 508 yards and five touchdowns. He is fearless going over the middle showing good concentration when knowing he’s going to get punished by the secondary. Ditto also can get by you deep with his deceptive speed.

Chaz Powell
Pos: CB
Glen Rock, PA
Ranking: 3 Star

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Powell played running back and defensive back last season for Susquehannock where he accumulated 1190 yards rushing, 16 touchdowns, 11 yards per carry, 30 yards per catch, 16 blocked extra points, three interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. Quinn Barham
Pos: OG
Durham, NC
Ranking: 2 Star

Ryan Breen
Pos: P
Clarkston, MI
Ranking: 2 Star
With the departure of Kapinos, a punter was crucial for Penn State. Breen, is an all-county kicker/punter last season who averaged just under 40 yards a punt and frequently puts his kickoffs into the end zone.

There you have it, a look at the future Lions. Now I feel like Tom Lemming and that creeps me out, I’m going to go take a shower with steel wool.
