There's been a bit of a western PA slant to the site lately, but I would be remiss to not acknowledge the passing of Harry Kalas. Some of you may know him as the voice of NFL Films, continuing the tradition of fellow Philadelphia broadcasters started by John Facenda, but most will recognize him as the Phillies play-by-play man. Baseball holds the summer to its lonesome and it won't be the same without Harry filling the sports void. Enjoy his call of the ninth inning of the 2008 Phillies World Series Championship here.

it's a day later, and i'm still extremely disturbed by harry's passing. harry was always part of my summer nostalgia, even when the phills were pathetic.
was it the same when Cope passed on?
