Blogpoll: You Maniac! You Blew It Up!

or perhaps more appropriately:

I'm the stupid one and Galen is the drunk.

And it all started out so nicely. Another weekend, another massacre of the Top 5, just the perfect time to try and address some of problems I was having with earlier polls. Did I fix it? Hell no, still have lots of issues, it gets real ugly outside of the top 12, probably earning one of the bad awards for my ballot this week, but there's plenty of season left. All those Big 12 and SEC squads crowding the top? Hurray for cannabilism! They should sort themselves out in the near future, however, I am now feeling far less enthusiastic about the Big 12 as a whole than I had previously. BYU? Much more comfortable with where they're at now. USC/Ohio State? Too low, but if they take care of their business, opportunities abound. Corrections, suggestions and objections are always welcome.

Games watched: Troy/Florida Atlantic, Clemson/Wake Forest, Louisville/Memphis, Texas/Oklahoma, Minnesota/Illinois, Notre Dame/North Carolina, Purdue/Ohio State, Tennessee/Georgia, Penn State/Wisconsin, Oklahoma State/Missouri and LSU/Florida.

Dropped Out: Northwestern (#19), Illinois (#22), Wisconsin (#24).

Moving Up:
Texas Tech - chalk this up to bad memories of injustices past. Yes they struggled against Nebraska, but they won and having gone through '94 and watching a team drop for winning a close game (albeit differently because Indiana put points up on Penn State in garbage time against the back-ups) still burns me up.

Oklahoma State - Really expected Missouri to potentially run the table to the Big 12 Championship game, since they were set up in the North and the class of the Big 12 is in the South. Oklahoma State went into Missouri and exposed their offense is indeed human, they punt and turn the ball over!

Moving Down:
BYU/Kansas - course correcting my ballot, Kansas lost to South Florida and BYU starts playing some actual competition this week.

Illinois - losses to Missouri and Penn State were understandable, but Minnesota? Old Illinois reared its ugly head with bad turnovers.

Hey! If that wasn't so close to the truth I might be pissed.
