Blogpoll: Stuffed on Cupcakes

Late with getting this posted for feedback, but here's the ballot for display. My confidence drops significantly once you leave the Top 10 and I'm throwing darts once I got to the bottom. In the meantime, the bulk of non-conference games have been played and let's take a look at how the BCS conferences stack up.

1. SEC - Georgia, Florida and LSU are all impressive, but this conference was not worthy of 5 simultaneous Top 10 teams.
2. Big 12 - Oklahoma and Missouri have been beasts so far and could potentially both run the table before meeting in the Big 12 Championship for a title game berth.
3. Big Ten - I would give Wisconsin the nod as the early favorite, they've had the most impressive victory of the non-conference slate at Fresno State (pending what Oregon State does on Thursday), but Ohio State gets Beanie back and rules Big Ten play. Penn State? Too early to give a solid read.
4. Pac 10 - It's USC and no one else deserves mentioning.
5. ACC - Wake Forest looks the strongest, but we'll see how the rest of the conference rebounds.
6. Big East - It's South Florida and no one else deserves mentioning

Games watched: Kansas State/Louisville, West Virginia/Colorado, Baylor/UConn, Temple/Penn State, Notre Dame/Michigan State, Virginia Tech/North Carolina, Florida/Tennessee, Wake Forest/Florida State, LSU/Auburn and Georgia/Arizona State.

22 Nebraska 2
23 Fresno State 2
24 Boise State 2
25 Illinois 1

Dropped Out: East Carolina (#15), Oregon (#18).

Moving Up:
Wake Forest - dismissing a Florida State squad that had no business being associated anywhere near a Top 25 was thoroughly satisfying.

Illinois - didn't know who to drop in the 25 slot, but of the teams that were standing on the outside of my rankings, they've had the loss to the most impressive team.

Moving Down:
Auburn - if they had had a better showing following that terrible 3-2 game they wouldn't have dropped this far, but there is no way around it that offense is beyond bad.

East Carolina - probably a little harsh to be dropped completely, but a combination of losing to a pathetic NC State team and diminishing impressiveness of their early season victories were an unfortunate mix this week.
