Reggie Bush – Runnin’ for the Money

A federal investigation has revealed the existence of taped conversations that may prove former USC RB Reggie Bush took cash and gifts during the 2004 season. Lloyd Lake of failed sports marketing agency New Era Sports & Entertainment is the subject of the probe according to Yahoooooooooo. New Era Sports was trying to launch with Bush as their flagship client but Reggie backed out and signed elsewhere. The tapes were made to protect New Era from just such an event, and now they could be proof that Bush accepted money and gifts while at USC. In one such conversation Bush claims he will give back "their money” to New Era as well as a car that was purchased for him.

According to the Yahoooooooooo investigation Bush and his family received nearly $280,000 in cash, rent and gifts. If the NCAA finds the accusations to be true, Busch could be deemed ineligible retroactively, USC could have it’s national title nullified and Reggie could lose his Heisman.

In other unrelated news, USC plans to sign 10 out of ESPN’s top 100 high school prospects on national signing day.

I've always thought USC was a semi-pro team. This just confirms it.
