Thursday Night Madness

Chuck Amato managed to cauterize the gaping wound that is his coaching career at N.C. State Thursday night by beating the Florida State Seminoles for the forth straight time. Two weeks after Akron appeared to stab the Wolfpack in the heart when they punched the ball in the endzone on the last play of the game; N.C. State appears to be alive and kicking going 2-0 in the ACC Atlantic Division and beating two ranked teams in a row.

What appeared to be a defensive struggle early on, had it’s offensive moments. Florida State manufactured a 14 play 99 yard drive late in the third quarter to take a 20 – 10 lead and apparently put the game away. Not to be outdone, Wolfpack sophomore quarterback Daniel Evans, making only his second start, threw two late touchdown passes to take the lead. N.C. State running back Andre Brown continues to torture the Seminoles running for over 100 yards for the second year in a row.

What is a coaching respite for Amato will most certainly fire up the anti-Bowden ilk as Florida State is simply not the feared team they once were in the ACC. Granted, FSU defensive players are dropping like flies, but offensive coordinators are beginning to crack Micky Andrews pressure defense. ESPN’s Streetball slam dunk competitions don’t have as many ally-oop balls as N.C. State threw Thursday night.

Speaking of ESPN, I still sit by patiently until someone either fires Lou Hotsszzzth or an angry mob equipped with torches and garlic necklaces drives the necessary wooden stake threw his heart to end the misery he imparts on viewers. I now know why he’s paired with Mark May, because he’s the only person on the face of this earth that can make May look knowledgeable. Hotz constantly screws up names so bad it makes my skin crawl. Unless my ears deceive me, Holtz called LSU’s quarterback JaMarcus Russell, Jamaica Russell.

It’s time for my fellow bloggers to target the real problem, Mary May isn’t it. Show of hands for the all new blogs: FireLouHoltz.com and LouHoltzBeWrong.com.

One of the true joys of this season so far has been watching FSU and Miami suck.

I wanna see Bowden Sr. retire in shame after JoePa passes him up this season (is that mathematically possible?). And I wanna see Bowden Jr. take over when dad's gone.

Billybob,

Bowden has 5 more wins then Paterno, not that I'm counting or anything.
